Apples

Today’s weather has been a bit of a weird one but growing up in Northern Ireland you tend to run with it as it changes so quickly. Today started of bright, sunny and warm. Now it’s grey, cold and very very windy. So windy that I had to collect all the apples from our trees before the branches broke. Plus the kids planted sweet corn this year and at the minute it’s looking a bit worst for wear.

So what to do with about 200 apples. The first idea was to make cider, the second is to make a few pies and sauce. But I’m not completely convinced that all of them are ripe enough.

A well time for a bit of trail and error.
